Well it has been a really crazy past month or two. Mainly because we decided to pack up and move to moriarty... And the boonies of moriarty. I will eventually post pictures, but we are literally in the middle of no where. You can see a house from our back porch and it takes 15 minutes to get back to civilization. I LOVE it so far. Mainly because i have my Corey back. Even with the total madness of a move, he has been so happy. He has his cows here instead of in Clovis and any one who knows corey knows this is a big deal. it is so peaceful at the new house. There is no noise. Just open land. I love it. Brigz said "cow" the other day too. That made daddy a very happy dude.
The move has been rough. Harder than I thought. Moving with a baby is hard already, but moving with a crawling/almost walking baby makes it even harder. Plus, he is a tad bit spoiled so any time away from mamma (in another room that is) is the most serious, traumatizing thing ever. Oy. The up-side is, he unpacks our boxes... Even if it not in the right room :)AND he got his third ear infection on the first night in the new house. Poor baby was so miserable. I feel so bad for him and so helpless with a sick baby.
Needless to say, I am running off no sleep, lots of coffe, and zero food because I am simply too busy to eat. The pre-mommy abbey would not believe those words. Good news is I accidentally lost 10 pounds. We are going to Florida on Saturday so I guess that's a good thing!
But man, we are so lucky to have had so many people help us with the move. We are forever grateful. It would have been impossible by ourselves and a sick baby. I don't know how people do it. I not only think it takes a village to raise a child, but a village to move as well!
We are ver blessed, very busy, and very happy right now. We have lots to do before our vaca on Saturday. It will be much needed though. Corey asked me how to make a Mai tai yesterday, so I know he is planning on a good time! Can't wait!

uhahhhhaaaahhhhhhh (That's joyful singing if you couldn't tell)
Well I have to say, so far so good! The Bells are officially getting some sleep! It pretty much took 4 nights and hopefully it sticks... keep your fingers crossed.
Night 4-
8:00 asleep
11:00 wide awake
soooo.... we let him cry. It was awful. Brutal. I sat outside his room and cried. He threw some serious fits. He chucked his pacifier, kicked his legs, punched his little arms, stood up and screamed "hi Dadda" (which broke my heart), and everything he could think of. For ONE SOLID HOUR. I almost had a heart attack. Then, he rolled over, put his pacifier in his mouth, and fell asleep! He was still hyperventalating, and I was still crying, so i went in and loved on him once he was out cold. Hardest hour of my life. But he didn't wake up again until 6:30!
Night 5-
7:30 asleep
2:00 ate and back to sleep
8:00 up for the day
I would call it a success
Night 6-
He took a late nap so I was worried about how the night was going to go. But he started acting tired around 7:30 so i started his bed time routine any ways.
8:00 he didn't go down while rocking but was so tired so i put him in his crib.
He cried for 5 minutes and then went to sleep.
3:00 woke up to eat
8:00 up for the day
I would call it another success!
I have noticed that since he is only eating once at night, he has been SOOO much hungrier during the day! Hallelujah! He now downs 2 jars of baby food a day and big bowl of cereal at night. If you know Brigz, this is huge! We are used to 1-3 bites of food at each feeding.
Also, he seems more content during the day. Well, besides all he falls and bumps and bangs. He is so close to walking, but still has a few issues, aka wipe outs. He looks like Rocky right now with a beat up forehead, a black eye, and a busted lip. Poor baby :( I promise you don't need to report me to CPS... spend 1 minute with my wild animal and you will see why he is so beat up! Our doctor said he is one of the busiest babies he has ever seen. She has been a pediatrician since before I was born. Great. I will have no reason to not be the skinniest mamma out there!
All in all- life is amazing! I had the best Mother's day with my boys and my family. I feel so much more rested! Life is good, God is good!

The "S" word.... sleep!
Soooooo, If I haven't talked about it enough, I will say it again. Brigz is not a good sleeper. At all. He was until around 5 months and for some reason with teething and sickness, it all went down the tubes. YES I have read babywise and allll the other books written on sleep. The problem is me, not him. I am a giant, big ol' fat mush about letting him fuss or cry. It all started in the hospital. After we almost lost him, i didn't want him to ever go through any more suffering. I remember him fussing in the bassinet and getting soooo stressed that something was bothering him! Fast forward 9 months and he wants to be with me. all. the. time. I don't even like to hear him get uncomfortable in his crib.
I am also obsessed with reading. Which usually does more harm than good. I think there is sometimes too much research out there and it can be overwhelming. I want to do what is best for Brigz, but what do you do when the "right" thing so different for everyone? But lately I have been so much on sleep because I am so tired. The big thing about "sleep training" or "night weaning" is they all say to start it if exhaustion is affecting your house. It is. I am a zombie. Right now Brigz acts so hungry at night and since he such a skinny minny I don't want to deny him. However, he is 9 months old. He should not still be getting hungry at night. So Corey and I have decided to try to cut him down to 1 feeding at night for a couple weeks and then hopefully get rid of that. But we are moving in the middle of this, so we will see how that goes! The plan is to (sigh) let him cry a little. 3 min, then 5 min, then 10 min periods until he falls back to sleep on his own. I know he is going to have a heart attack. He has the craziest cry ever because he never has to cry :) mamma does what he needs. when he needs it. or ever a couple seconds before he needs it.
So here is the progress:
Night one of night training-
7:30 pm: asleep
10:30 pm: Daddy went in to soothe
1:35 am: Brigz awake screaming his head off for mamma. I sent hubbster in to give him his bink. Turns out, he had peed through a diaper and his sleeper was soaked. We got him changed and tried to sing him back to sleep (still haven't picked him up yet).
2:00 am: sleep training hit failure. I rocked, nursed, everything I wasn't supposed to! He was so sad :(
6:30 am: wide awake!!??? what the heck??? he has been sleeping since 9am!!
..oy
Night 2:
8:00pm: asleep
12:00 am: up and starving... so I fed him after trying to soothe for 15 minutes.
6:30am: up for the day. Not amazing, but the longest stretch of sleep I have had in MONTHS! I even have a crick in my neck because I am not used to sleeping in one spot for that long.
Say your prayers for the Bells. I love that little baby more than anything and I feel like there is a reason my heart hurts when he cries! But we need some balance. I am a better mamma when I have had more sleep!
